March the 5th 2013. The date that I started a vegetarian diet trial...............yes just a trial.
Why? Well the truth is I have absolutely no idea or should I say no conclusive idea. I'm writing this as I enter my second day and I have already come to the conclusion this is going to be a lot trickier than I thought,
I started my day off with a smoothie (should of just juiced but oh no). In my smoothie was spinach, broccoli, apple, ginger and carrot. It closely resembled fish pond sludge and smelt very similar to it too. I managed three sips of it then decided to turn my sink pipes into very healthy ones and tipped it down it!
Morning tea was a three inch subway with veg patty, avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, olives, carrot, cucumber and tomato relish and mayo. It was delicious.
Late lunch was a felafel kebab with no cheese or egg and hummus, garlic and sweet chili dressing. I bought some seaweed and some pickled octopus. Yes yes I realised that the octopus was actually something that had once lived so that was shelved. Man I love that stuff.
For dinner I roasted up some sweet potato (red and orange) and some beetroot never did that before and wont again and I made some tomato rice risotto. It was OK. I then drank numerous glasses of red wine (oh thank you Lord that there is no animal products in red wine).
I don't know of many vegetarians that don't struggle with their weight and that concerns me a lot. I am guessing cos unless I go vegan, fat is a good comforter as is carbs both of which are going to go straight to my ass especially combined with the high sugar content of fruit and some veges. I'll keep you posted on that one.
